About Drought
A drought is a long period of dry weather that lasts long enough to affect the human and animal population surrounding it. This is because of a decrease in the amount of precipitation in an area over an extended amount of time. Although drought is a natural occurrence, because of environmental issues such as global warming, climate change is changing the natural flow of things.
